Mindful Making
"On October 4th, 2024, during our first studio class, we were introduced to a diverse group of students from various nationalities. Our discussion centered on the concept of Time's Suspension, exploring how our personal experiences with time and care influence our understanding of existence, particularly in relation to loss and uncertainty.
We were to draw a line on a black chart that extended from the top to the bottom. Although the task seemed easy, we did it; however, we managed to complete it. Everyone expressed their uniqueness by adding a small hint or detail to their lines, making each one distinctive.
Chalk for a metaphor for Care and Time
Just like chalk is delicate and can easily break or wear away, both time and care can be fragile. Time slips away quickly, and moments can be lost if not cherished.
Care can also be fragile; it requires attention and nurturing to grow, just like a chalk drawing that can fade with time or be erased.
Overall idea was to tell that time is effective and powerful; just as the waves reshape the sand, time continuously changes our experiences and the world around us.
At the end I saw that everyone transformed into a child when we were asked to draw with chalk and be creative. It was heartwarming to see everyone letting go of their worries and cherishing playfulness.

A nicely told story. I like your chalk drawings. Think about this as a method of telling the story of your artefact and then scheme. Develop your drawing practice. You might want to consider more writing in relation to the texts we read.
